TORONTO, Ontario (November 14th, 2022) – You know there’s a big world out there, waiting for you. Get out there. Go explore – in the Toyota RAV4. Canada’s most popular Toyota SUV comes in 16 grades for 2023, ensuring there’s a RAV4 that satisfies your unique needs and desires. Every member of the RAV4 family is upgraded for 2023 with new connectivity technology and enhanced safety systems. To top it off, Toyota offers two new models this year, including the limited production Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Woodland edition.
“The RAV4 is an amazing Canadian success story – one of the most popular models on the road, and loaded with performance, capability, style, comfort, and amenities,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “For 2023, we’ve enhanced every model to make a great SUV even better. This year, find out how the RAV4 family is ready to help you get the most out of every journey.”
The 2023 RAV4 family features powerful styling, dynamic performance from a choice of three all-wheel-drive powertrains, a refined and impressively-equipped interior, and advanced yet friendly technologies. New this year, Toyota has done an across-the-line upgrade to RAV4’s connectivity systems, introducing Toyota Multimedia to the family. Other upgrades include larger touchscreen displays and multi-information displays on most models, plus enhanced safety headlined by Toyota Safety Sense 2.5.
Curbside, RAV4’s powerful stance and chiseled appearance makes it stand out from the crowd. Its long wheelbase and wide track are more than great looking – they also contribute to a more confident, stable drive. Meantime, short overhangs and high ground clearance let RAV4 tackle tougher terrain.
Inside, ruggedness gives way to refinement. RAV4’s cabin impresses with its spacious feel, premium materials, harmonious layout, and accommodating features – with plenty of space for up to five adults, plus the versatility of 60/40 split folding rear seats to maximize cargo hauling abilities when required.
Every RAV4 is also a technology showcase. In addition to all-new Toyota Multimedia connectivity systems, every RAV4 has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Technology also informs performance, with a choice of three powertrains:
- The RAV4 family includes a number of gas-powered models, featuring a 2.5L Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine paired with a direct-shift eight-speed automatic transmission.
- RAV4 Hybrid features Toyota’s hybrid technology, built around a 2.5L Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine, powerful motor-generators, continuously variable transmission, and efficient storage batteries. The result is 219 net system horsepower, fast, confident acceleration, and impressive fuel efficiency.
- RAV4 Prime enhances Toyota’s plug-in hybrid technology. This advanced SUV delivers 302 net system horsepower, a remarkable range of up to 979 km on a full tank of gas and a full battery charge, and an electric only driving range of up to 68 km.
All models feature all wheel drive:
- RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime models ride on an electronic on-demand all wheel drive system featuring a dedicated electric motor at each wheel to channel torque where it’s needed. Under normal driving conditions, the system directs 100 percent of torque to the front wheels to maximize efficiency. When the weather or terrain demands it, the system automatically redistributes power up to 50/50 front/rear for superior traction, and exceptional handling and stability when accelerating and cornering.
- Select RAV4 models feature Toyota’s Dynamic Torque Vectoring All Wheel Drive System with rear driveline disconnect. A Toyota first, this system can sent up to 50 percent of engine torque to the rear wheels, plus distribute it to the left or right rear wheel for exceptional control.
As a Toyota, every member of the RAV4 family also features industry leading safety technologies. This year, all models are enhanced with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, designed to enhance driver awareness, decision-making, and control. All models also feature the Toyota Star Safety System, a backup camera, and eight airbags.
