TORONTO, Ontario (October 8, 2024) – The Toyota Land Cruiser is the original adventure vehicle – reimagined for the modern Canadian adventurer. For 2025, Toyota Canada offers the Land Cruiser in three distinct grades, each ready to explore where others fear to tread.

“This legendary SUV helped launch Toyota in Canada 60 years ago,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “The Land Cruiser is a thoroughly modern, exclusively electrified SUV that offers extreme capabilities and unmatched reliability, bringing dynamic energy to any adventure.”

The 2025 Land Cruiser is built around performance and capability, which is why Toyota designers and engineers chose Toyota’s TNGA-F global truck platform as its foundation. This gives Land Cruiser the strength it needs to withstand punishing off-road conditions while also exhibiting impressive ride comfort and on-road manners.

To ensure the Land Cruiser has go-anywhere capability, every model is exclusively-electrified, built around Toyota’s i-FORCE MAX hybrid-electric technology. This powertrain is built around a 2.4L turbocharged engine mated to an eight speed automatic transmission via an electric motor in the bell housing. This design offers maximum performance – enabling the Land Cruiser to achieve 326 horsepower, 465 lb-ft of torque. With a trailer hitch standard on all grades, the Land Cruiser’s powertrain can tow up to 6,000 lbs.

To this, engineers added an impressive package of Toyota’s state-of-the-art off-roading technologies. All 2025 Land Cruisers feature full-time four-wheel-drive with a centre locking differential, electronically-controlled two-speed transfer case, an electronic locking rear differential, and automatic limited slip differential. These features are enhanced with additional handling and control technologies, including Crawl Control, Downhill Assist Control, Vehicle Stability Control, and a three-setting Drive Mode Select system. Some grades feature additional technologies such as Multi-Terrain Select and Multi-Terrain Monitor.

Additional handling prowess is delivered via a double-wishbone front suspension with twin-tube shocks, plus a multi-link rear suspension with coil springs. Electric power steering delivers superior steering feel, while 17-inch disc brakes on all four wheels provide ample stopping power.

The Land Cruiser conveys its capabilities while honouring its heritage with a squared off body profile, short front overhang, and a lower beltline that provides superior outward visibility.

Open the doors, and the Land Cruiser welcomes adventurers to a generous cabin loaded with comfort and convenience features. Smart design choices place controls and gauges within easy reach and sightline for the driver. All models feature multi-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel on a tilting/telescoping column, and USB charging points.

The Land Cruiser puts intuitive technology at one’s fingertips – and voice. Every model features the Toyota Multimedia system – a bundle of smart connectivity technologies that keeps drivers informed and safe while simplifying their lives behind the wheel. The system integrates wirelessly with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and features Toyota’s newest interface, which improves interaction between people and vehicle through sight, touch, and voice. Many functions may be controlled via the touch screen via the same gestures used on mobile phone screens. Other technologies include Toyota’s Smart Key System with Push Button Start and an anti-theft alarm system with engine immobilizer.

Every Land Cruiser also comes with an impressive package of safety features, headlined by Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 – the newest configuration of Toyota’s suite of active safety technologies and capabilities that supports driver awareness and decision making to help reduce the potential for accidents. Other standard safety features include a Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, a backup camera with camera washer, eight airbags, rain-sensing wipers, and Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking.

In Canada, the Land Cruiser is offered in three grades, as follows:
