TORONTO, Ontario (February 15th, 2024) – Canadians ready to embark on epic road trips with family and friends can travel in spacious comfort and style in the new 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander – which the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) today named as its Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year.
“As the last full-line automaker in the industry, Toyota remains committed to ensuring every Canadian can find the right vehicle for their lifestyle – including those who require comfortable seating for seven or eight, top of segment cargo space, and performance and efficiency that goes the distance,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “That’s what we deliver in the Toyota Grand Highlander – and everyone at Toyota Canada is thrilled that the members of AJAC have recognized our commitment with this important award.”
AJAC announced the award today at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, where the 2024 Grand Highlander will be on display in the Toyota booth February 16-25, alongside a full range of Toyota vehicles and technologies.
Toyota Canada offers the 2024 Grand Highlander with a choice of three distinct powertrains. The Toyota Hybrid MAX system generates 362 combined horsepower and a 5,000-pound towing rating for high-performance adventures. A second, hybrid option offers 243 system horsepower with impressive efficiency. Finally, a turbocharged gas powertrain delivers a peak 265 horsepower. Every model features all-wheel-drive and an impressive package of handling and control technologies.
The 2024 Grand Highlander expresses a distinctive, beautiful exterior design with a low hood line and large side windows that that emphasize visibility. Inside, the cabin is defined by its refined elegance, ample space for all three rows, and thoughtful touches such as convenient storage and USB charging points for every occupant. Even with all seats filled, there’s room for seven carry-on suitcases behind the third row – and with the second- and third-row seats stowed, the Grand Highlander offers up a cavernous 2,775 litres (97.5 cubic feet) of cargo space.
Every Grand Highlander is also a high-tech showcase, headlined by the powerful yet user-friendly Toyota Multimedia system and the active technologies of Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.
