TORONTO, Ontario (March 27th, 2024) – Drive into a future that combines innovative engineering with environmental leadership. The Toyota Mirai is defined by bold styling, advanced technology, and driving fun. It has a range of up to 647 kilometers and can be refueled in about five minutes.

For 2024, the Toyota Mirai has added a few new upgrades that are sure to turn heads. A new Elemental Silver exterior color will now be available. Mirai will also sport new Beyond Zero badging, highlighting Toyota’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions to move toward a carbon neutral future. Designed to help protect drivers and their passengers, the Mirai will also now come with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.

“The Toyota Mirai is a stunning vehicle that’s exhilarating to drive and loaded with advanced features – making it everything that drivers love about a well-engineered automobile,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “But it also happens to be built around one of the most advanced powertrains on the planet – ensuring Mirai delivers all the range and refuelling advantages of a traditional gas-powered car, but with only water vapour as an emission.”

Toyota remains committed to putting Canadians in the driver’s seat when it comes to addressing climate change – and the Toyota Fuel Cell System that powers the Mirai demonstrates, without question, the value of embracing a multi-pathway approach to eliminating emissions. This system enables Mirai to perform essentially as an electric vehicle, while never needing to be plugged in to recharge. The hydrogen fuel cell stack at Mirai’s heart is the result of more than two decades of development and combines compressed hydrogen gas from the Mirai’s fuel tank with oxygen from the atmosphere. The resulting chemical reaction produces electricity to power the Mairi while creating water vapour as its only emission.

Built on Toyota’s GA-L platform for premium rear-wheel-drive vehicles, the Mirai features a near-perfectly balanced weight distribution, a pavement-hugging centre of gravity, and multi-link suspensions that combine to deliver grin-inducing handling and agility.

Curbside, the Mirai is dramatic yet refined, with a coupe-inspired body that conveys a sense of motion through its long hood, sweeping roofline, and short rear deck. Toyota engineers carefully crafted every surface reduce drag, while Toyota designers enhanced the Mirai with tasteful yet striking features – such as long, narrow, auto-levelling LED headlamps that sweep into the fenders, and a thin LED taillight panel that’s tapered at the centre of create unique signatures after dark, from every angle.

Inside, the Mirai welcomes the driver and up to four other passengers to a quiet and comfortable cabin. The Mirai features Toyota Multimedia (including Safety Connect, Service Connect, Remote Connect, and Drive Connect services), plus a 12.3” touch screen and intuitive touch and voice activation controls. Other standard features include a 12.3” multi-information display and the Qi wireless charging dock for mobile phones.

A JBL Premium Audio system with 14 speakers including a subwoofer delivers a thrilling audio experience for every drive. This system is enhanced with Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and integrated Sirius XM Satellite Radio.

As a Toyota, every Mirai also features a comprehensive safety package – headlined by Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. This bundle of active safety systems – an upgrade from the package on last year’s model – is designed to enhance driver awareness and control. Other standard safety equipment includes the Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, the Intelligent Clearance Sonar system with Rear Cross Traffic Brake, and a Panoramic View Monitor. New this year, all 2024 Mirai are now standard equipped with Traffic Jam Assist, a Driver Monitor Camera, Lane Change Assist, and Safe Exit Assist.

For the 2024 model year, Toyota Canada offers the Mirai in a single model:
