Jul 31, 2018

So, you’re shopping for a new full-size pick-up truck. Let’s assume that – like most new vehicle shoppers – you want a reliable, long-lasting truck that offers a great combination of power and efficiency. But that’s not quite enough, is it? You also need something that just fits – you, your life, your family, or perhaps even your job. The built in North America Toyota Tundra has a wide range of 4x2 and 4x4 options, with Double or CrewMax Cabs – from the well-equipped SR 4.6L, to the elegantly finished Platinum and western-themed 1794. Let’s take a look at what the Toyota Tundra can offer you.

Watch the video below to learn more:

Strong & Stylish Exterior

You might say that Tundra got a bit of a facelift in 2018.  The front of the truck was refreshed, with some new s, front fascia, and headlight designs, an update to standard LED headlights and fog lights (on equipped models), and even a few new exterior paint colours.

Now let’s take a bit of a closer look, shall we?  Some of the competitors will tell you that lighter-weight aluminum is a better option, but we’ve opted for the proven strength and durability of fully galvanized steel for Tundra’s , meaning less maintenance is required.

You can also choose your cargo bed length, depending on how you need to use your Tundra:

8.1 Foot – available on the 4x2 and 4x4 Double Cab SR5 Long Bed models, suitable for hauling full sheet drywall or plywood.

6.5 Foot – available on the Double Cab SR, SR5 Plus and Limited models

5.5 Foot – available on CrewMax models

Every Tundra cargo bed is accessed via a convenient Easy Lower and Lift Locking and Removable Tailgate. Limited and Platinum Models have a standard spray-in bed liner to help maintain a pristine finish.

Toyota Safety SenseTM-P*

We’ve given you a lot to consider about the Tundra lineup, but you may also be interested to know that every 2018 Tundra is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense-P (TSS-P).

TSS-P is designed to help protect drivers, passengers, people in other vehicles on the road, and pedestrians. It’s comprised of multi-feature active safety packages anchored by automated pre-collision warning and braking. TSS is designed to support the driver's awareness, decision-making and vehicle operation over a wide range of speeds under certain conditions.

Packaged together in an integrated system, TSS-P features help address three key areas of accident protection: mitigating or preventing frontal collisions, helping to keep drivers within their lane, and enhancing road safety during nighttime driving.

The 4 key systems of TSS-P are:

Pre-collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD) - Provides collision avoidance or collision mitigation support in speed ranges where frontal collisions are likely to occur.  In certain conditions, the PCS w/PD may also help to detect pedestrians and help prevent or mitigate a collision.

Automatic High Beam (AHB) - Designed to detect oncoming and preceding vehicles’ lights and depending upon the circumstances, AHB can switch between high and low beams for you.

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

Using forward sensing radar technology, the system can automatically adjust vehicle speed to help maintain a pre-set following distance between you and the vehicle directly in front of you.

Lane Departure Alert - Alerts you if you start to drift out of your lane when visible lane markings are detected.

Always drive safely, obey traffic speed limits and laws, and focus on the road while driving.

*Drivers should always be responsible for their own safe driving. Please always pay attention to your surroundings and drive safely. Depending on the conditions of roads, vehicles, weather, etc., the TSS systems may not work as intended. Please see toyota.ca, your local Toyota Dealer or Owner’s Manual for details.
